Sawako
is a Japanese sound artist currently living in Tokyo. She did live
performances in japan, usa, paris and london. She makes a soundscape
graced with silences, the post-romantic petite sounds, mixer feedback,
computer prossesing, field recording, and the various sounds of her
immediate environment. Almost paradoxical in nature, Sawako's music
encompasses both deep contemplation and a arbitrary randomness of
having totaly no intentions. Recently she is co-editing/writing a book
about electric music and sound art as collavolation with Andrew Deutsch.
This is the
recording of sawako's live in warszawa, a club/bar in tokyo. In the
live performance, she collavolate with the immediate environmental
sound such as the street, audiences and the venue. Her
thinking/attitude towars environment in live performance is coming from
her experience of field recording. But also recently some people like
Yoshihide Otomo, o.blaat, some people in Boston have interest and do
activity about collavolating with the immediate environmental sound
when they do live performance. I don't know exactly what thet think,
but, it seems they are coming from their own original route to the
attitude/thinking.
